No display (only) during GRUB menu

I installed Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS yesterday on my three year old or so Ryzen powered Lenovo desktop, which has an LG TV connected to it in a dual booting with Windows 10 configuration, but when GRUB loads up, everything about my TV goes dark (no backlight either.) I have BIOS, and I get the Ubuntu loading screen as it boots to desktop. Haven’t messed with Linux heavily since the days of Mandrake 7.2 and have been looking to get back into it, though I have been using it as a desktop for lower powered machines the entire time. (I also used LILO then, as GRUB had compatibility issues. I keep hearing this has not changed and is likely an issue here.) I have followed a few tutorials I found here and there in attempt to get a fairly basic text display or something, so that I can see what option I am selecting, should I hope to go into Windows, though I’ve realized no change in the situation thus far. What are some things I can look for to restore sight to GRUB?
